Franklin Battlefield
September 7, 2004 - On the way back from the annual Labor Day Chicago trip, I took a few days vacation by myself and detoured down through Kentucky and Tennessee to visit many of the battlefields that I have read so much about over the years. Here are some of the pictures that I took during my trip. Franklin Battlefield was another one of my disappointments during the trip. I visited the famous Carter House, but most of the rest of the battlefield has been consumed by urban sprawl.

Assault upon Assault

Many waves of assaults happened between these two buildings on the Carter property.

Bullet Holes

This outer building on the Carter property was the center of much heavy fighting, as you can tell by the number of holes in the siding.

These outer buildings on the Carter property were the center of much heavy fighting, as you can tell by the number of holes in the siding and brick.
