Chattanooga Battlefield
September 8, 2004 - On the way back from the annual Labor Day Chicago trip, I took a few days vacation by myself and detoured down through Kentucky and Tennessee to visit many of the battlefields that I have read so much about over the years. Here are some of the pictures that I took during my trip.

Lookout Mountain

As viewed from in Chattanooga. This would have been a similiar view of the mountain that the Union leaders would have seen during the battle.

Point Park, Lookout Mountain

View of the park from the entrance to Point Park.

Chattanooga from Lookout Mountain

View of the city of Chattanooga from Point Park on Lookout Mountain. The confederates were able to control the river from this vantage point.

Craven's House, Lookout Mountain

View of the Craven's House looking Northeast. This location was the site of some of the heaviest fighting on Lookout Mountain.

Iowa Monument, Lookout Mountain
